ABA Arranged Commercial Banks Consultative Groups (CBCG) Meeting

Afghanistan Banks Association (ABA) arranged Commercial Banks Consultative Groups (CBCG)meeting with coordination of Da Afghanistan Bank(DAB) on Feb 20, 2018.
The meeting was attended by H.E.DAB Governor Mr. Khalil Sediq, Deputy Financial Supervision Mr. Abbas Sami, ABA member banks’CEOs and Executive Director ABA. The main agenda of this meeting concentrated on Financial Action Task Force ( FATF) Private Sector Consultative Forum 23-24 April 2018 and steps needed for resolving the issue of correspondent banking relations locally and internationally. Besides, approval for opening new branches was another points that was raised in the forum.
During the meeting, H.E. Governor added that, all banks operating in Afghanistan should comply with international laws and best practices and provide proper guidance to their employees. The agenda points were discussed in the meeting and certain instructions thereon were given to the ABA-banks.
