Membership of the Association:
- Members of the Association may only be registered banks that have their office and operate in Afghanistan.
- Members of the Association shall be the subscribers to the memorandum of the Association and signatories to these articles and such other banks as from time to time are admitted to membership as hereinafter provided.
- Member of the Association shall be classified into 3 ( three ) classes, namely:
a) Founder Members
b) Full Members
c) Honorary Members
The qualification and conditions of entry for the 3 (Three) classes of membership shall be as follows:
a) Founder members shall be the banks/persons who, attended the founder’s meeting and shall in all other respects be regarded as Full Members.
b) Full Members shall be banks/persons who, in the opinion of the Management Board, have professional standing and recognized banking service. Banks/persons may only become Full Members
once they have applied and paid the initial application fee.
c) Honorary Members shall be persons who, in the opinion of the Management Board, render or will render services of exceptional value to the profession and to the protection and development
of banking sector in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
Acquiring Membership:

Licensed banks may apply to be the
regular member of ABA by completing all details as required in
prescribed application form.

The membership application will be
placed in the general assembly of ABA and decision of the
general assembly shall be final.

The Management Board shall inform the
applicant bank in writing at the earliest opportunity about the
decision of the General Assembly.
